Until September 1994 Joan Veon was just a businesswoman. As a result of attending the United Nations Conference on Population and Development in Cairo, Egypt, she received her "wake up call" as she found there was more going on at the global level than most Americans knew, understood or were being told.
In her determination to understand the global level and what it really means for Americans, Joan has attended over 53 UN and UN-related conferences since Cairo on topics ranging from the social to the economic to the environment, including the World Trade Organization meeting in Seattle..
Joan has been credentialed through USA Radio and has appeared as a regular guest on the Michael Reagan Show, the Jane Chastaine Show, Radio Liberty, and numerous others across the U.S. She has asked questions of presidents, prime ministers, key United Nations/IMF/World Bank officials, Bank for International Settlements executives, the Bank of England officials, high officials in the Clinton Administration, multinational CEO's, and others in order to understand the global agenda and how it relates to the local level.
